  Such a beautiful, peaceful spot and surprisingly simple to find. Feels like a million miles from everywhere and yet it's within easy reach of Barnard Castle and the Bowes Museum, High Force and Low Force and some lovely walking country. Facilities are basic but more than adequate for such a tiny site. Quite slopey (for want of a better word!) but there are some flat spots for pitching your tent. The water may take some getting used to, there's a very high iron content, but it's fine. Lovely, friendly welcome from the owners, and from the hens, which lay, quite honestly, the best eggs I have ever eaten. Definitely worth getting some for your breakfast! And the stars at night...
